Y’all July! The beginning of the second half of the year is here!! Can you believe it?

And what year it has been. It’s definitely been a really strange time but that doesn’t mean we can’t do something amazing with it. One thing I always do is take a moment to reset, rejoice and recommit with my goals and really my whole life. Doing that helps me stay focused on what’s important to me and focused on moving towards the life I dream of. So, let me give you a little bit of my Quarterly Reset Routine!

Now this routine usually takes me a half of a day but if I have more time I can make it a full-on retreat that can take 1 to 3 days. It’s just really up to what time I have and what I feel I need. At the end of the year I usually take at least 3 days and usually a full week to rest and do the whole routine.

Reset: This one’s simple. Take a moment. Spend some time to be quiet and reset your mind, body and soul. It doesn’t have to be super long but if you have whole day use the day to run through all of these steps. Find something that gives you joy and rest and have some fun! I usually spend a little time in worship, prayer and meditation and I feel totally refreshed in the end.

Rejoice: Then I rejoice! I take some time to look over the last quarter and see what good has happened over the last quarter. This quarter has been pretty crazy but I’ve had a lot of great blessings so I got a chance to rejoice over a lot but you don’t have to have a lot to rejoice about. Just take one thing and be thankful. If you can’t think of anything be thankful that you are here and still able to do something great this quarter! Did you know that taking time to be thankful actually has good effects on your mental and physical health? So, take second and write down at least 5 good things that happened this past quarter. Some questions you could answer: What good things happened? What goals did I hit? How have I grown in this quarter?

Reevaluate: Now time to do some work! This is where I look at goals I didn’t quite hit, evaluate my routines to see if they still make sense for my current life, and review my life plan to make sure I’m still in line for the Dream Life I’ve envisioned. A few questions to ask yourself: Do my goals/routines/life plan still make sense for me? Why did I hit this goal and not the other? What was different? Do I need recommit? What worked? What didn’t work?

Recommit or Remove: Finally, time to put up or shut up! Seriously time to take a hard look at your goals and decide. Are you going to make this happen or not? For me I got this last 20 pounds that I keep playing with so I’m recommitting to this goal and am going to make it happen! So ask yourself: Am I keeping this goal or not? What do I need to change to be successful? Does this goal still make sense for my current life?

Now for my perfectionists and overachievers:  Deciding to remove a goal doesn’t make you a failure! It makes you wise. After careful evaluation you realize this goal doesn’t match with what you want to do or it just doesn’t fit anymore, remove it! Its wise and brave to make those kinds of decisions!

So now that you have the four R’s of my Quarterly Reset Routine do you feel ready to jump into this new quarter?
